Devotionals

Asbury UMC provides Upper Room Devotionals for Asbury members.

The Upper Room is a devotional magazine published in more than 30 languages and 100 countries around the world. The daily meditations are written by readers of the magazine and others interested in sharing their faith experiences through writing—both laity and clergy, published authors, and new writers.

Asbury provides printed copies of The Upper Room each month or you can access each daily devotional online.

Put your faith first each day and discover attainable ways to worship, serve, and grow.

It’s not difficult to start your day with a devotional – especially one that’s five minutes! Written by Asbury’s pastors and scripturally aligned with The Upper Room, these Asbury Devotionals are another option to help you keep focusing on your faith.

Want us to email you the devotionals each day? Sign up here. Want to listen via podcast? If you’re a podcast person, consider subscribing to Asbury B’ham Meditations (wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts).

Noonday Prayer

Prayer is the center of the Christian life. It is our connection to God that allows us to be attune to the Holy One here and now. Prayer is what nourishes our souls, deepens our understanding of God, and fills us with the Holy Spirit. Prayer is how God speaks to us, leads us, hold us, and renew us from within. From scriptural-based devotionals to art-based meditations, find a Noonday Prayer that speaks to and guides you today.
