Asbury United Methodist Church is a growing, mission-driven church in Birmingham committed to faithful stewardship and transformational ministry. We believe the way we manage our resources reflects our values. That means we take the financial health of this church seriously, and we need someone who does too.
You’ll own the financial operations of Asbury UMC and all associated entities. This is not a background role. You’ll work directly alongside the Executive Director, support the Finance Committee and help keep the ministries of this church funded, accountable and moving forward.

You do not need to be a lifelong churchgoer to thrive here. You do need to respect the mission and operate with integrity inside of it. The right person for this role:
– Takes ownership without being told twice
– Communicates financial information clearly to non-financial audiences
– Maintains confidentiality without exception
– Manages multiple priorities without dropping details
– Builds trust with staff, committees and leadership alike
– Approaches their work with a positive and professional attitude
You want your work to mean something. You want to sit at a table where decisions matter and the numbers you produce actually shape what a community of people gets to do in the world. You are not looking for a job to coast in. You are looking for a place to contribute.
Salary range is $65,000 to $75,000, based on experience. Beyond the paycheck, we invest in the people who work here.
– Health and dental insurance coverage, paid by us
– Retirement plan contribution by us, you can add on
– Flexible and generous paid time off
– Continuing education allowance
– Primarily in-office work with schedule flexibility available as needed
