Mike leads Traditional Worship at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. on Sundays in the Sanctuary. He is a strong believer in collaborative leadership and the empowerment of each and every Christian to embody the way of Jesus in and for the world. “Asbury United Methodist Church is such a caring church family that at the same time is remarkably outward-focused,” he says. “We have a rich legacy of being a big church with big hearts and we seek to make a big difference in our community and world.”

Rev. Robert Mercer

Associate Pastor

Robert is a dynamic and versatile member of the Asbury family and has been on staff since 2011. Known for holding the record for the most office changes, Robert’s journey through various roles reflects his adaptability and commitment. Currently, he leads Modern Worship, collaborates with the pastoral team, and oversees Asbury’s connection and outreach ministries.

Rev. Maggie Dunaway

Pastor of Congregational Care

Maggie coordinates various teams that offer physical, emotional, and spiritual care to the Asbury community. She was drawn to the United Methodist Church because of its “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors” motto: “We rely on the holy spirit to move within our lives; we have permission to explore and question faith without judgment or boundaries; and we believe in warmth and inclusion for all,” she says.

Rev. Michael Bowman

Pastor of Spiritual Formation

Michael has a heart for spiritual formation and loves helping people practice the way of Jesus, which is also part of his job in collaboration with the Pastoral and Adult Ministry teams. You can find Michael reading, running, talking about his kids, or making his wife Sara a cup of coffee.
