Sunday Mornings
Sunday School Welcome Team
Need: 2 people per Sunday
Time Commitment: 30 minutes one Sunday a month
Term: Now – August 2023
Responsibilities:
* Serve 15 minutes prior to and the first 15 minutes of Sunday School on your designated Sunday (9:30 – 10:00).
* Engage and help with crowd control in Children’s Assembly Space while Sunday School Team and Directors are in huddle from 9:30-9:45.
* Assist with check in at the welcome desk
* Find a replacement if you cannot serve on your designated Sunday.
* Be willing to be someone’s replacement on another Sunday (even if it is last minute).
* Ensure check-in stations are cleaned, prepared, and stocked
* Create a safe and welcoming environment for families
* Help train new volunteers
* Welcome new families and get children’s information at Check In.
* Guide new families to rooms and explain anything they need to know
* Find someone to apprentice in this role
* Attend one Asbury Kids training per year
* Follow all Safe Sanctuary Practices
* Warm, welcoming, loving and helpful attitude
Sunday School Teachers
Time Commitment: 75 – 90 minutes *on Sundays served
Term: 1 year, beginning August 14, 2022
Sunday School Teams: Each grade ideally will have a minimum of three Sunday School leaders. This grade level team will communicate with each other so that at least one member is available at all times to teach Sunday School. Ideally, there will always be at least two of three team members leading each Sunday.
9:30 – 9:45 Arrive to prepare for Small Groups
9:45 – 10:15 Large Group
10:15 – 10:45 Small Groups
Responsibilities:
* Team huddle at 9:30 a.m.
* Work with your grade level team to ensure all Sundays have at least 1 teacher.
* Engage in large group and help with crowd control.
* Create a safe and welcoming environment for children to learn
* Come prepared each week by reviewing planned curriculum
* Connect relationally with the children in your group
* Communicate and partner with parents of children in your group
* Attend one Asbury Kids training per year
* Follow all Safe Sanctuary practices
* Subject to background check
Curriculum:
* Lessons for each unit will be uploaded and shared with you through Google docs one week prior to each new unit. Units last 4-5 weeks.
* All materials will be provided each week. Lessons have planned activities, however, this is your time to connect with “your kids” and help them learn the weeks lesson on their level. If you want to add/take away activities, reach out to no later than a week out so we can provide any materials needed.
K - 2nd Grade Children's Church
Time Commitment: 30(ish) minutes one Sunday a month during 8:30 am or 11:00 am service
Term: 1 year, beginning August 13, 2023
Kindergarten – Second graders will be dismissed from the Children’s Moment in Traditional Worship and after the reading of the scripture in Modern Worship for a lesson in room 214.
Responsibilities:
* Serve during Children’s Church once a month Sunday during the 11:00 service.
* Engage with kids and parents
* Support Children’s Church leaders with your input, crowd control, supplies, activities, etc.
* Be willing to be someone’s replacement on another Sunday (even if it is last minute).
* Create a safe and welcoming environment for children to learn
* Attend one Asbury Kids training per year
* Follow all Safe Sanctuary practices

Wednesday Nights
Time Commitment: 95 minutes 5:50 – 7:35 weekly
Term: 9 months, beginning August 17, 2022
5:50 – 6:00 Arrive and prepare to greet kids
6:00 – 6:40 Choir (all groups)
6:40 – 7:00 Kindergarten – 2nd Grade small group; 3rd – 5th Grade large group
7:00 – 7:20 Kindergarten – 2nd Grade large group; 3rd – 5th Grade small group
7:20 – 7:35 Dismiss students as parents arrive

Behind the Scenes
Decorations (Not VBS)
Time Commitment: 4 – 6 hours per month
Term: current – August 2023
Responsibilities:
* Serve monthly to enhance the engagement of learning through decorations in the Children’s Assembly space.
* Listen to ideas from your team and Children’s Ministry about decorating for Sunday and Wednesday themes.
* Go over ideas and budget with one or both Children’s Directors prior to implementing.
* Shop or delegate shopping to Children’s Ministry or team members/volunteers for necessary supplies.
* Organize and plan dates and time to decorate for Sunday and Wednesday monthly themes (must be on church calendar).
* Meet with the Supply Coordinator every quarter months to tidy up decoration resources
* Meet with the Supply Team Coordinator and Members, Decorations team and Directors twice a year (after VBS and in January) to clean out closets.
* Recruit members to the team and oversee apprenticing opportunities.
* Attend one Asbury Kids training per year
* Follow all Safe Sanctuary practices
* Subject to background check
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per month
Term: beginning asap – August 2023
Responsibilities:
* Serve monthly to enhance the engagement of learning through decorations in the Children’s Assembly space.
* Collaborate ideas on how to decorate with Decorations Coordinator on Sunday and Wednesday themes.
* If needed, shop for supplies
* Decorate with Decorations Coordinator monthly for Sunday and Wednesday themes.
* Meet with the Supply Coordinator every quarter to tidy up decoration resources
* Meet with the Supply Team Members, Decorations Coordinators and Directors every six months (after VBS and in January) to clean out closets.
* Recruit members to the team and oversee apprenticing opportunities
* Attend one Asbury Kids training per year
* Follow all Safe Sanctuary practices

* Review and edit Sunday and Wednesday Supply list to reflect the best activities for Small Group Leaders to utilize
* Shop or delegate shopping to directors, team members/volunteers for necessary supplies
* Organize supplies by activity in small group leader bins each week
* Meet with Children’s Ministry Directors the third week of each month to prepare for the following month (can be virtual).
* Meet with the Supply Coordinator every quarter to tidy up closets
* Meet with the Supply Team Members, Decorations Coordinator, Decorations team and Directors every six months (after VBS and in January) to clean out closets.
* Recruit members to the team and oversee apprenticing opportunities
* Attend one Asbury Kids training per year
* Follow all Safe Sanctuary practices

Responsibilities:
* Depending on the event. The basics are the following:
– 30 minutes prior: There available and ready.
– 30 minutes post: There available and breaking down until all is done.
Worship Attendant Coordinator
Time Commitment: 30 minute per week
Term: Beginning asap – August 2023
Responsibilities:
* Each Sunday at 11:00 we need 1 Bible Bearer and 2 Acolytes. This position entails recruiting these three positions for this service and notifying us who is serving each Sunday. This is easily done and trainable by:
* Create and monitor a “Needs” list in myccb for Worship Attendants Special Services.
* Email or text a reminder to the families and copy Director.
* When director is out, be available to help robe, practice and pray prior to service and help the process at the beginning of worship
* Attend one Asbury Kids training per year
* Follow all Safe Sanctuary practices
