VBS Was AMAZING!
To all our kids and families who attended, decorated, helped with set up, financially supported Asbury UMC’s VBS this year, and so much more – THANK YOU!
Camp Spark was a HUGE success! We had 330 children, 135 youth helpers, and over 100 adults. That’s a grand total of 565 people involved in Asbury’s VBS and that number doesn’t include all the church members who purchased items from our wish list, donated to our mission, and prayed for us!
Speaking of our mission: we were hoping to raise $10,000 for Water is Basic (an organization that educates and employs women in South Sudan to launch and manage well-repair businesses). We not only reached but exceeded our goal and raised $22,270! The money will provide clean water to hundreds of children in South Sudan and that gift creates a ripple effect that allows these children to attend school, play with their friends, maybe even attend a VBS of their own because they won’t need to spend hours each and every day walking to get water for their families.
