Church family, we are THRILLED to host 20 of our local mission and outreach partners on September 15 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. in the Gym. Children should attend the Mission Celebration with their parents; there is no regular children’s Sunday school on Sept. 15. The children can join Asbury Kids Staff in the middle of the gym to complete a hands-on service project.
Just for Preteens
On Wednesday, Sept. 18, fourth and fifth graders are headed to Sweet Frog after they huddle up for choir and some small-group discussion. The group will leave at 6:30 and return 7:30 p.m. Bring $5 for ice cream – we’ll cover the rest!
Asbury is teaming up with Grace and Canterbury United Methodist Churches as we launch Connect: a collaborative preteen ministry. Registration is now closed for this overnight retreat at Camp Sumatanga, Sept. 20 & 21. If you registered, we’re PUMPED to see you there!
Traditional Worship Spotlight
Kids who want to feel vested in and part of our Traditional Worship services at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. have the opportunity to carry in the light and God’s Holy word as acolytes and Bible bearers! On Sunday, Sept. 22 from 12-1:45 p.m., second-fifth graders are invited to acolyte training.
Children’s Sunday is Sept. 29 in 11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship. From greeters and ushers to sermons and singers, our kids are leading worship and we’re here to help every step of the way. In what role would your child thrive? Let Miss Melanie or Amanda know this Wednesday or Sunday.
Get Ready to TRUNK!
Asbury’s Trunk-or-Treat will be held Sunday, Oct. 20 from 4-6:00 p.m. Kids with sensory challenges or need calmer atmospheres are welcome to come from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. for exclusive trunk-or-treating. Church family: Are you willing to do a trunk this year? Start thinking about your theme! We’ll have prizes for the top three trunks!
We’ll have four great carnival rides and Food Trucks including Eugene’s Hot Chicken, Bougie Burger, and Kona Ice. We can’t wait!
