It’s Asbury’s pleasure to partner with Church of the Reconciler to provide pack sack lunches for our unhoused friends. Join us on the second Sunday of each month right after 11:00 a.m. worship in the church kitchen. Want to donate groceries? Label and put refrigerated items in the walk-in refrigerator in the church kitchen. Shelf-stable items can be put in the donation corner downstairs near Room 140.
The May Mission of the Month supports Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank. Diapers can cost more than $100 a month and aren’t covered by any government assistance program. Bring diapers (size 4, 5, or 6) OR give online (your money makes a bigger impact!).

Donate Items
Asbury collects clean, gently used clothing, tennis shoes, and eyeglasses. We also welcome clean glass jars and these non-perishables. Have a large donation for the food pantry? Please bring those items directly to the pantry. Asbury’s Donation Corner is located downstairs in the Adult Wing near Room 140 and donations can be brought any time. You’ll also find scripture-card kits in our Donation Corner you can take to friends and neighbors.

Ready to do more?
When Asbury UMC was established in 1986, its founding members and clergy decided that on top of the 10% it gives to The United Methodist Church for ministries and outreach, Asbury would give 10% more to Birmingham and its community partners. Nearly 40 years later, Missions in Action, a church member-led committee at Asbury, identifies organizations that are helping others and allocates money to them using the gifts you put in the offering plate. In 2025 alone, Asbury gave $915,512.
