There are more than 14,500 children under the age of five living in Birmingham.
And did you know that 29% of our community lives below the poverty line?
That means a family of four is living on just $24,250 a year.
Believe it or not, diapers aren’t covered by any government assistance program such as SNAP or WIC. And babies need eight to 10 diapers a day, which can cost more than $100 a month. Asbury is proud to support Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank, an organization that provides more than 200,000 diapers to struggling families each month.
All throughout April, we’ll be collecting baby wipes, as well as boxes, packs, or even partial packs of diapers (all sizes welcome; 4, 5, 6, pull-ups preferred) and writing notes of encouragement for families. The cards can be picked up at the welcome centers; diapers and cards can be returned to the Mission Wall outside the Foust Family Life Center (Gym). Thank you!
Want to support this great ministry any time? Drop off diapers or volunteer to bundle diapers at Bundles of Hope’s facility (The Changing Station, 1430 Reverend Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd. Birmingham, AL 35203) Wednesday mornings and Saturdays. Sign up for a shift.
