While Giggles & Grace may look like your typical consignment sale (with clothes, toys, furniture, and decor) it’s much more than that. It’s also a huge, biannual mission outreach for Asbury and the communities we serve.
In 2023:
– Total sales exceeded $298,000
–More than $78,000 donated back to Asbury UMC general fund for missions and Asbury youth & children’s ministries
– 170 forty-gallon bags of unsold items were donated to community charities around the Greater Birmingham Area: Reach Out and Read Book Drive, Garrett’s Place, Trinity UMC Clothes Closet, Oak Mountain Mission Ministries, King’s Home, Grace Klein Community, and Shelby County Foster Parent Association
– 172 local families in need received clothing vouchers to shop the sale (more than $23,000 in donations)
Giggles & Grace also serves as a food drive to help stock the Food Pantry. Canned food/non-perishable items can be donated during the sale. Donation boxes are located at the door. Bonus: for each food item you donate, you’ll be entered in a raffle for a chance to win a check-out fast pass, so you can skip the check-out line. The raffle takes place on both sale days.
You can also shop early on Thursday or get a “skip the checkout line” pass by volunteering at the sale OR donating $25 to cover volunteer snacks and refreshments.
This sale occurs twice a year in February and August. The next sale is August 23 & 24.
