Join Asbury UMC this Summer!

Asbury’s Recreation Ministry hosts morning and afternoon day camps that can also be combined for all-day fun. You’ll also find two week-long camps hosted by Asbury KiDS Ministry below – Gross Out Camp and Vacation Bible School!

If you’re interested in weekly and monthly summer camp options, be sure to check availability with Asbury’s Day School (CASA) on March 18. The school offers summer opportunities for babies (two months+), toddlers, and kids through rising sixth grade.

Gross Out Camp

Hosted by Asbury KiDS

June 9-12, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Rising first – fifth grade

This award-winning day camp focuses on hands-on field biology. Campers will explore in a safe environment as they search for bugs, worms, millipedes, crawdads, and more. We will be in the woods, in the creek and in the sunshine. No screens allowed! Just the biggest playground (classroom) — the great outdoors. It’s science, but please don’t tell the kids!

The cost of $125 includes all materials and activities. Registration is open until June 1. All payments are due at time of registration.

Soccer Camp

Rising second-sixth grade

June 16-18, 9:30 a.m. – noon, Gym

Campers learn passing, dribbling, rules, and play games. Cost: $70.

This camp can be combined with Science for an an all-day experience. Bring a lunch!

Science Camp

Rising second-sixth grade

June 16-18, 12:30-3:00 p.m., Room 128

Participants will explore different regions of the earth: rainforests, tundra, deserts and woodlands. Cost: $70.

This camp can be combined with Soccer for an an all-day experience. Bring a lunch!

Vacation Bible School

Hosted by Asbury KiDS

Rising kindergarten-fifth grade*

June 23-26, 8:30 a.m. – noon

Join Asbury KiDS on a fun-filled adventure on the open roads to exciting destinations! Led by the Navigator and an adventurous pup Scout, kids will learn that God is always with them. Cost: $10.

VBS can be combined with lacrosse, chess, or princess camp for an all-day experience. Bring a lunch!

*A preschool VBS is open to children of adult volunteers. And, rising sixth-12th graders can serve as youth volunteers.

Indoor Lacrosse Camp

Participants will learn game fundamentals, stick skills, footwork, and lacrosse lingo. Cost: $85.

This camp can be combined with Vacation Bible School for an all-day experience. Bring a lunch!

June 23-25, 12:30-3:00 p.m., Room 214

Girls will embrace their inner princess and learn dance, more about their favorite princesses, and manners. Cost: $85.

This camp can be combined with VBS for an all-day experience. Bring a lunch!

Participants will learn basic ball handling, shooting, and dribbling skills. Cost: $70.

This camp can be combined with Martial Arts for an all-day experience. Bring a lunch.

Martial Arts Camp

Rising first-sixth grade

July 7-9, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Outside Sanctuary

Participants will learn basic self-defense technique and martial arts discipline. Cost: $50.

This camp can be combined with Basketball for an all-day experience. Bring a lunch.

Participants will have hands-on time focusing on a variety of STEM activities (individually and in small groups). Cost: $70.

Connect-Serve Week

Hosted by Asbury KiDS

Rising fourth and fifth grade

Asbury KiDS Preteen Ministry is hosting a Connect Serve Week with several area United Methodist Churches. In the morning we’ll have lessons, games, activities and worship. In the afternoons, we’ll do hands-on service with various ministry partners, like Oak Mountain Ministries, and Grace Klein. Cost: $50.

In this two-day class, students will learn basic childcare and pediatric first aid skills to safely and responsibly care for infants and children. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and two-year certification for pediatric CPR/first aid.
