Heart Connection is the senior ministry at Asbury, serving singles and couples, 60 and better. Everyone is invited to participate in activities and programs, and to join our community of people seeking Christ and growing together in faith, service, and friendship. The Heart Connection mission statement is connecting people to Christ.
All of the groups and events below are part of Heart Connection – find something that sparks your interest!
On Monday, August 12 at noon, enjoy lunch (chicken & dressing, mac & cheese, corn, rolls, lemon pound cake) and a presentation by Financial Advisors Hunter Smith and Scott Corcoran from Kelley and Mullis Wealth Management. Hunter and Scott will provide a stock market update and talk about the concerns and risks you and your family should consider in retirement. Register.
On Wednesday, August 7 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 144, fellowship while packing shoeboxes for the precious Roma children of Bulgaria for our July Mission of the Month (Mission Bulgaria).
M4A (Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging) is offering three, free workshops on a variety of topics in 2024. The next session is Brain Health on Wednesday, Sept. 4 in Room 144 from 10-11:30 a.m. Workshops are open to the community – no registration required.
Exercise Opportunities
Asbury members and member guests are welcome to play in our gym on the following days:
Mondays 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesdays 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesdays 6-8:00 p.m.
Thursdays 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Learn how to listen to your body, stretch, meditate, and exercise through the art of yoga. Drop in Mondays from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. in the space outside the sanctuary. Bring your own mat. The class is $5 per session.
