Heart Connection is the senior ministry at Asbury, serving singles and couples, 60 and better. Everyone is invited to participate in activities and programs, and to join our community of people seeking Christ and growing together in faith, service, and friendship. The Heart Connection mission statement is connecting people to Christ.
All of the groups and events below are part of Heart Connection – find something that sparks your interest! Transportation to each event is provided from Asbury. Call the church office at 205-995-1700 if you have any issues registering for an event.

Come From Away | June 27
Join us for an afternoon at Red Mountain Theater on Saturday, August 29! “Come From Away” is Tony-winning musical is based on a true story about the day the tiny town of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. On September 11, 2001, thirty-eight planes were diverted to the airstrip, bringing thousands of scared international travelers to the sleepy town. But with music, an open bar, and a few language barriers, it becomes a moment for global unity in an uncertain time.
Transportation from Asbury leaves at 1:30 for the 2:30 p.m. showtime. The cost is $45 (ticket and transportation). REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.
Exercise Opportunities
Adults of all ages are invited to play pickleball in Asbury’s Gym at the following times:
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 2:30-4:30 p.m. First time attending? Let Nancy Hollaway know you’re coming.
Learn how to listen to your body, stretch, meditate, and exercise through the art of yoga. Drop in Mondays from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. in the space outside the sanctuary. Bring your own mat. The class is $5 per session.
