Milestone 5: Entering High School

Entering high school is not only scary but extremely challenging. Grades now count towards a child’s GPA which goes towards scholarships and college applications. The pressure to succeed becomes overwhelming to some students. The Entering High School Milestone is designed to give parents tools to help students build a healthy balance between school and life.

How Students Are Celebrated:

Discovery Weekend (February 24-26, 2023) is a weekend retreat held on Asbury’s campus. During the Discovery worship service Sunday, Feb. 26, students will be recognized and charged with a transition into leadership within Asbury Student Ministry. The expectation for them–and how they treat others–shifts.

How Parents Are Supported:

A parent meeting will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26.
