Tornado Buckets

Little things, big impact.

It’s not a question of whether a tornado will strike.

It’s when. Especially in the springtime. That’s why Asbury partners with the United Methodist Disaster Warehouse in Decatur, AL to assemble torndado buckets every January. Each 5-gallon lidded bucket contains a hammer and nails, flashlights, trash bags, toilet paper, gloves, toiletries and other emergency items. We truck the filled buckets to Decatur for storage and then warehouse volunteers deploy the buckets to families as soon as possible.

Join us on the following dates:
Saturday, Jan. 21, 2-4:00 p.m. (Gym): Assembly line set up
Sunday, Jan. 22, 9:45-10:45 a.m. (Gym): Fill tornado buckets
Monday, Jan. 23: All Day: Deliver buckets to Decatur
