Because of you, Asbury has been a place where our community continues to worship, serve, and grow together in 2025. Through your generosity, lives have been changed, new members have found a church home, and neighbors in need have felt God’s love in tangible ways. As the year comes to a close, we invite you to help us finish strong by making a year-end gift to the 2025 General Ministry Fund and continue the good work God is doing at Asbury.
At Asbury, we believe generosity is one of the ways we grow together in faith and love. Your commitment to the 2026 General Ministry Fund helps us nurture vibrant worship, care for one another, and serve our neighbors near and far. As you reflect on how God has blessed your life, we invite you to prayerfully make your 2026 commitment and help us step with faith into another year of ministry, together.

All we have comes from God, and giving is one of the ways we return gratitude for those blessings. When we give, we aren’t just supporting a budget, we’re participating in worship, recognizing that our resources ultimately belong to God. Through generosity, we draw closer to God and deepen our faith as disciples.
At Asbury, giving is an expectation of membership. We do not specify how much an individual should give, but we hope each person will commit to supporting the ministries and mission of the church.
10% of every donation to Asbury's General Ministry Fund is immediately earmarked for Missions and Outreach. Asbury also gives back 10% to the United Methodist Church for local, national, and international missions and outreach. The other 80% supports worship, programs for children and students, Bible studies, small groups, pastoral care and support, mission trips, building and operational needs, and so much more.

Asbury wants to ensure we continue to be a place for future generations. Building debt relief generosity is over and above what Asbury pays each and every month to continue to pay down its building debt. This allows us to pay down the debt faster and ensure our facilities are up to date and growing in our ministry.

Planned gifts are a purposeful way of supporting the future missions and ministry of Asbury United Methodist Church. When Asbury receives assets as a beneficiary under a will or trust after the donor’s death, the gift is known as a “planned gift.” Planned gifts can be made from a variety of asset classes such as cash, securities, qualified retirement plan/IRA assets, the death benefit from life insurance, or real estate. All gifts are welcome.

Grow Together is a churchwide invitation to make generosity a priority for every household. At Asbury, generosity is more than a financial transaction—it’s an act of faith and an act of worship. It’s how we say “thank you” to God’s lavish generous grace given to us as well as how we say “yes” to God’s call for us to sustain the life-changing ministries that shape our church, our neighbors, and the next generation.
Our goal is to strengthen our General Ministries/Operating Budget giving to support our vision for growth and vitality over the next three years. Designated giving has a place in ministry, but by increasing our General Ministries/Operating Budget, we are able to make a greater impact, provide greater flexibility for ministries, and be more nimble with funding existing ministries as well as those we hope to grow in the future!
Every household. Every commitment. Every gift. It all adds up to something bigger than any one of us.
Let’s grow our future, together.
An estimate of giving, sometimes called a pledge in other churches, is an individual’s or family’s annual expected contribution to the church through tithes and offerings in support of our church’s missions and ministries.
The missions and ministries through Asbury UMC are made possible by gifts to the General Ministry Fund (also known as the operating budget). This is the vital fund that supports all the programs and ministries and the church as a whole. This includes funding for worship, programs for children and students, Bible studies, small groups, pastoral care and support, mission trips, community service opportunities, building and operational needs, and staffing.
You estimate of giving allows us to plan ahead and set a realistic budget for the year ahead.
We understand situations change and we are here to support you through all circumstances. If you need to increase, decrease, or discontinue your estimate of giving, email our Executive Director, David Miller at david.miller@asburybham.org and modify your estimate at any time. This helps ensure our records are accurate.
