No matter who you are or where you are in your faith journey, you are welcome at Asbury United Methodist Church. Worship at Asbury is an integral part of who we are, a way of expressing our faith, and the opportunity to proclaim the Good News to the world. With two distinct and vibrant styles of worship, Asbury continues to be a place for our community to grow in their faith knowledge.
This year, we were thrilled to welcome new members to our church, but also watch our worship services grow and thrive. Our worship attendance continues to increase, but more importantly, you are serving in worship in meaningful ways.
In July, we welcomed Rev. Mike Holly as our new Senior Pastor. Mike, his wife Julie, and his children Davis and Lena have quickly become important parts of the Asbury Family. Mike leads our Pastoral Team and serves as the primary pastor in Traditional Worship. Rev. Michael Bowman joined our staff as the Pastor of Discipleship, working with Adult and Family Ministries and regularly serving in both Modern and Traditional worship. Michael, his wife Sara, and their son Grady have brought so much to the Asbury family in such a short time.
With more than a decade of leadership at Asbury, Rev. Robert Mercer moved into the role of Associate Pastor where he continues to provide wisdom and leadership to the ministries and missions at Asbury. Robert serves as the lead pastor in Modern Worship, a service that has seen tremendous growth over the past year. Rev. Maggie Dunaway continues to provide care and grace for our congregation as our Pastor of Congregational Care. Preaching regularly in both Traditional and Modern worship, Maggie also began coursework at Duke Divinity School for her Master of Divinity.
