Heart Connection is the senior ministry at Asbury, serving singles and couples, 60 and better. Everyone is invited to participate in activities and programs, and to join our community of people seeking Christ and growing together in faith, service, and friendship. On Monday, March 11 at noon, attendees at Young at Heart will meet Lew Burdette, Director of King’s Home who has quite a faith story to share! Lew was kidnapped, beaten, stabbed, shot, and left to die. But he survived and now dedicates his life to helping others.
Tour a peaceful place of spiritual renewal and prayer at The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament (Hanceville, AL) on April 26. Cost: $35 per person (admission and transportation included).
M4A (Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging) is offering four, free workshops on a variety of topics in 2024. The next session is senior health and wellness on Wednesday, April 24 in Room 144 from 10-11:30 a.m. Workshops are open to the community – no registration required.
Exercise Opportunities
Pickleball is ping pong and tennis combined. Open play: Mondays 2:00 – 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. Thursdays 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Fridays 2:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Learn how to listen to your body, stretch, meditate, and exercise through the art of yoga. Drop in Mondays from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. in the space outside the sanctuary. Bring your own mat. The class is $5 per session.
