Children's Ministry Intern

Job Type: Part-Time 
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hours per Week: 10-15 hours 
Reports To: Director of Children’s Ministry 



The Children’s Ministry Intern provides administrative and programmatic support to the Children’s Ministry team, working to create a positive and safe environment for children of all ages to grow and explore their faith.


Create an environment where preschool and elementary school children feel comfortable and can grow in their faith

Encourage and support parents to be faith leaders in their homes

Assist the Director with Children’s Church on Sundays, sometimes leading activities, experiences, and worship

Assist with the Children’s Moment in Traditional Worship and Modern Worship as needed on Sunday

Assist with Wednesday night programming, including large group sessions and small group studies

Coordinate supply preparations for events, including Sunday School, Children’s Church, Worship Notebooks, and Wednesday Night programming

Support other ministries at Asbury through your presence and service

Other duties as assigned in conjunction with Children and Family ministries


Be committed to and actively communicate the vision of the church and become creatively involved in its development, articulation, and implementation

Excellent computer skills and ability to adapt to new tools and software quickly

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet critical dates and deadlines while managing multiple projects

Self-driven and able to work and produce results with supervision

Love children and have a passion for faith development

Attend evening and weekend events
